New Release: Brazil Cascavel Vermelha
The Return of a Crowd Favorite: Brazil Cascavel Vermelha
A long-time customer favorite is back in our seasonal lineup: Brazil Cascavel Vermelha, a naturally processed, medium-light roast from the Cerrado Mineiro region of Western Brazil. This approachable, comforting cup is everything we love about Brazilian specialty coffee—smooth, balanced, and just sweet enough to keep you coming back for more.
Grown in the Cerrado Mineiro: A Unique Coffee Region
Cerrado Mineiro is not only one of the world’s leading coffee-producing regions—it’s also one of the most distinct. Unlike the steep, high-altitude farms of Ethiopia or Colombia, this area of Brazil features relatively flat terrain and lower elevations, often between 800–1,100 meters above sea level.
These geographic conditions make it possible to use mechanical harvesters—advanced machines designed to selectively pick only the ripest cherries from the trees. This ensures quality while offering greater efficiency, a rare combination in the world of specialty coffee.
Natural Processing & Sun-Dried Sweetness
After harvest, the cherries are naturally processed, meaning they’re laid out to dry in the sun on patios, with close monitoring to ensure even fermentation and moisture content. This method enhances the coffee’s natural sweetness and body, resulting in a cup that’s both comforting and complex.
Tasting Notes: A Cozy, Everyday Cup
This year's Brazil Cascavel Vermelha delivers a smooth, dependable cup with tasting notes of:
- Milk Chocolate
- Maple Syrup
- Pecan
Its creamy body and mellow sweetness make it a perfect daily drinker, with just enough complexity to keep things interesting. It’s the kind of coffee you reach for without thinking—warm, welcoming, and incredibly satisfying.
Why "Cascavel Vermelha"?
The name Cascavel Vermelha translates to “Red Rattlesnake” in Portuguese. While it might sound intimidating, this snake is actually a respected creature in Brazil’s coffee ecosystem, known for keeping pests like rodents in check and helping preserve the health of coffee trees’ roots and irrigation systems.
Sustainably Sourced, Always Delicious
Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro region isn’t just ideal for growing great coffee—it’s also part of a biodiverse savanna ecosystem with clearly defined wet and dry seasons. These consistent climatic conditions contribute to the coffee’s signature Brazilian flavor profile—sweet, nutty, and smooth.
Brew It While It Lasts
Whether you’re new to specialty coffee or a longtime fan of our lineup, Brazil Cascavel Vermelha is the kind of coffee that brings people together—familiar, delicious, and incredibly easy to love.
Grab a bag while it’s in season and enjoy a classic Brazilian cup that feels like home.
