Ethiopia Dame Dabaye – A Bright & Floral Guji Favorite Returns
Our first Ethiopian release of the year is here, and we’re kicking off the season with a standout washed coffee from the renowned Guji Zone—one that perfectly embodies the region’s signature vibrancy. Sourced from smallholder farmers in the Hambela Wamena District, this coffee is made up of heirloom varietals that showcase the bright, complex profile that makes Ethiopian coffees so revered.
Like much of the coffee grown in Guji, these cherries are cultivated on small farms—often just a few hectares in size—before being delivered to trusted washing stations like Dame Dabaye, where they undergo meticulous processing to highlight their exceptional flavors.
The Story Behind Dame Dabaye
The Dame Dabaye Washing Station is part of Sibu Trading, a company with deep roots in Guji’s coffee industry. For over two decades, Sibu Trading has worked closely with local farmers, establishing high-quality washing stations across the region and connecting Ethiopian producers with roasters worldwide. Their commitment to sustainable relationships and top-tier coffee processing has helped elevate Guji’s reputation as one of Ethiopia’s premier coffee-growing regions.
What to Expect in the Cup
Guji’s diverse terroir is known for producing coffees with a strikingly bright, floral, and tea-like profile, and Ethiopia Dame Dabaye is no exception. Expect a delicate, well-structured cup with:
✔ Vibrant citrus and lemon zest
✔ Black tea-like elegance
✔ Soft floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle
This coffee is the perfect way to welcome spring—refreshing, nuanced, and full of life. We’re thrilled to bring back this OZO favorite, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.
