Nicaragua La Peña Pacamara
Over the past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of showcasing four unique coffees from Finca Un Regalo de Dios, all crafted by the skilled hands of producer Luis Alberto Balladarez. Each release has told a different story, highlighting how varietal, processing, and even the plot of land a coffee grows on can create entirely distinct flavor experiences. Now, with our final release, we’re excited to introduce Nicaragua Pacamara La Peña Natural.
This coffee is delicate in mouthfeel and roast level—sleek yet present. We approached this roast with a lighter hand, aiming to let the playful fruit notes shine without weighing them down. This approach stands in contrast to our previous release, Pacamara La Bendición Natural, where we took the roast a touch darker to highlight deeper, richer notes of ripe red fruit and fudge. Despite both being Pacamara varietals and both processed naturally, their profiles are strikingly different. Why? It all comes down to terroir—the environmental factors unique to each plot of land.
Before the two Pacamara releases, we explored two distinct Bourbon varietals, both from Un Regalo de Dios. The Bourbon Natural was dessert-like and indulgent, while the Bourbon Washed offered a crisp and refreshing profile. These coffees not only showcased the impact of processing on flavor but also emphasized how Luis Alberto’s precision and care in farming allow each coffee to express its fullest potential.
Together, these four coffees form a fascinating exploration of terroir, varietal, and process—all from one exceptional farm. It’s rare to taste such a range of flavors from a single origin, let alone a single producer. Each cup tells a story of place, care, and craft, and we’re honored to have shared this journey with you.
As we close this chapter with Pacamara La Peña Natural, we invite you to savor its delicate elegance and reflect on the broader story it represents. Whether you’ve followed this series from the start or are just joining us now, each coffee offers a chance to taste the extraordinary dedication behind every harvest at Un Regalo de Dios.
Cheers to the craft, the land, and the people who make it all possible.
