Peru Jaime Rivera Pintado: A Washed Caturra & Bourbon Microlot from La Prosperidad de Chirinos

Wrapping Up Peru Season with a Standout Microlot
This is our fourth and final microlot from our partners at La Prosperidad de Chirinos for the season. We have been working with this co-op in Cajamarca, Peru, since our first visit to Chirinos in 2018. This year, we had the immense privilege of sourcing four single-producer microlots from this group, and we're wrapping it up with a microlot from producer Jaime Rivera Pintado. Jaime has been working with Chirinos for the past two years and produces coffee on his two plots — El Romerio and El Eucalipto. This particular lot is made up of Caturra and Bourbon varieties, which he grows in addition to varieties such as Pache and Catimor. We had the opportunity to cup Jaime's coffee this past year when our team paid their annual visit to the cooperative. His coffee immediately stood out to us with an elevated flavor profile that we can't wait to share with you!

In the cup, look for sparkling grape acidity balanced with notes of sweet caramel and vanilla bean. This will be our last microlot from Peru for the season, so be sure to enjoy it while it lasts until next year's harvest arrives!
