Why We Make Our Own Almond Milk — And Why It Matters
At OZO, we’re always looking for ways to brew a better cup — not just in terms of flavor, but in the way our choices impact the planet. That’s why we make our own almond milk from scratch, right here in-house.
Crafted with just five simple ingredients — almond, cashew, water, agave, and a pinch of salt — our housemade milk is smooth, creamy, and free from gums, preservatives, or excess packaging.
But it’s not just about what’s in it — it’s about what’s not.
The Environmental Impact of Dairy Alternatives
Store-bought dairy alternatives often come in cartons that are difficult to recycle and require shipping across long distances. That adds up — in waste and in emissions.
By making our own milk on-site, we cut out the middle miles and keep things fresh and local.
In 2024, our housemade milk:
- Prevented over 3,200 cartons from entering landfills
- Reduced approximately 6,400 lbs of freight
A Better Option, From Bean to Cup
We offer our housemade almond-cashew milk as a delicious and sustainable alternative to traditional dairy and boxed plant milks. It pairs beautifully with espresso, makes a velvety latte, and is available at all of our OZO café locations.
Bonus: It’s a customer favorite — many say they taste the difference right away.
Sustainability in Every Sip
Making our milk from scratch is just one of many ways we’re reducing waste and rethinking what it means to be a sustainable coffee company. Whether it’s through our Own Cup Program, Canister Refills, or compostable GaeaStar cups, we believe small choices add up.
We’re proud to offer better options — for your cup, and for the planet.
Come try it out next time you visit — we think you’ll taste (and feel) the difference.
